TCOMAS NEOX 360 Dual-Platform Installation & Thermal Paste Contact Verification / Intel LGA1700 & AMD AM5 Brackets

For Intel platform assembly, begin by fastening the corresponding mounting brackets to both sides of the copper cold plate, positioning the four spring-loaded nuts around the base perimeter. The bracket arms provide slight play, allowing micro-adjustments to align smoothly with the four threaded standoffs during motherboard installation.

↑ Water block equipped with Intel platform brackets, featuring four spring-loaded nuts positioned around the copper base.

Next, align the included backplate against the rear of the Intel motherboard and thread the four standoffs into place from the front. With the standoffs securely seated on the LGA1700 platform, place the water block over the processor and torque down the four spring-loaded nuts diagonally in progressive stages to apply balanced mounting pressure across the CPU integrated heat spreader (IHS).

↑ Intel LGA1700 platform with four standoffs installed, ready for water block placement.

After completing the initial fastening, the water block was removed to inspect thermal paste compression and spread. Examination of both the copper cold plate and CPU heat spreader reveals a complete, uniform spread reaching edge-to-edge across the contact zone, with prominent imprint marks across the center and perimeter. No dry voids or localized pooling were observed, confirming that the Intel bracket delivers optimal clamping pressure and planar contact.

↑ Thermal paste distribution on the Intel platform post-mounting, showing complete and uniform contact across the processor surface.

For the AMD platform, replace the lateral mounting brackets with the dedicated AMD brackets. The AMD spring screws align with the outer boundaries of the copper base and thread directly into the motherboard's pre-installed stock backplate, eliminating the need to swap backplates on AM5 or AM4 motherboards.

↑ Water block swapped to AMD-specific brackets, with spring screws matching the stock backplate mounting holes.

Installation involves unscrewing the factory plastic retention clips while retaining the stock backplate, positioning the block over the screw holes, and tightening down diagonally in successive stages. Removing the block after mounting confirms the paste spread concentrates squarely across the active compute die zone of the Ryzen processor, leaving clear rectangular imprints with no one-sided bias or central gaps, verifying proper clamping force on AM5.

↑ Thermal paste contact check on the AMD AM5 platform, verifying solid pressure distribution across the central active thermal zone.

Following assembly, thermal evaluations were conducted using the Intel Core i9-14900K system mounted on an open test bench. The 360 mm radiator and three M-ONE fans were positioned directly above the motherboard, with the 6.67-inch curved display centered over the processor socket and the twin 400 mm braided tubes routing gracefully from the left side of the block up to the radiator. The generous tubing length accommodates clean routing without interfering with DDR5 memory modules or the primary PCIe graphics card slot.

↑ Intel Core i9-14900K open bench test configuration, demonstrating clearance for memory and GPU around the curved screen and radiator tubes.

Powering on the fan lighting and pump display, the three M-ONE fans diffuse vibrant ARGB illumination across their frosted semi-translucent blades, while the wrap-around curved display renders default animations, custom graphics, and system telemetry metrics.
